I’ve never really cared about politics nor have I been so excited about a President’s Inauguration. However, today we made history (well, November 4th, really) but today it is official: Barack Obama has been sworn in as our President. Not gonna lie, I shed a few tears while he was being sworn in. Finally, the horrific Bush era has come to an end. It certainly was long overdue. It is evident by the crowd’s reaction that this change was way overdue. The crowd could not contain themselves as he paraded down the street on his way to the White House; they were crying, jumping, and shouting his name like teeny boppers at a Jonas Brothers concert… a very exciting thing to witness. And despite the bitter cold, over 2 million people attended the inauguration and stuck around for the parade.
Some words that immediately came to mind while listening to his speech were: Pride, Hope, Tolerance, Progress and Responsibility. I once again have hope in this nation and I’m looking forward to four (hopefully eight) years of progress and change.
On another note, hope all is well with Senator Kennedy who suffered a pretty bad stroke during the Inauguration lunch.
